For many people Spring is a great time of year, more sun (we hope), getting out in the garden, beautiful flowers and the approach of Summer. Unfortunately for many people this also equates to allergy season. While addressing spring allergies can be more of a long term effort, there are several ways you can lessen Springs’s impact on yourself.
Today we’ll introduce you to an herbal tea that can provide symptomatic relief for your springtime allergies. Since it is just for symptomatic relief, it shouldn’t be taken long term. This tea is wonderful for spring allgeries such as hay fever and other allergies that cause congestion and profuse drippiness.
Spring Allergy Tea Recipe
- Yarrow – 2 parts
- Osha – 2 parts
- Eyebright – 2 parts
- Oregon grape – 1 part
- Horseradish – 1 part
Combine herbs, store in an airtight container, in a cool, dark location. A great place to get these herbs in the Seattle area is Dandelion Botanicals.
Prepare as an infusion, but since there are roots included (the Osha, Oregon grape, & Horseradish), let steep for 25 minutes.
- 1 cup water
- 3 teaspoons tea
- 3 times per day or as needed for symptomatic relief
